Information on Acrylic Earrings

What materials are your earring findings made of?

As of 2024, all earring hooks, posts, lever-backs, and clip-ons are made of stainless steel. All hoop findings are rhodium plated. Stainless steel and rhodium are both hypoallergenic and tarnish resistant, making them great for sensitive ears.

How do you care for acrylic jewelry?

Do not submerge pieces in water or get wet- store in a dry area (as with all jewelry!). Handle with care- acrylic is a high quality material but can still possibly break if dropped. Do not throw acrylic jewelry into bags or purses- it may scratch. Do not spray hairspray or perfume on your acrylic accessories, it may discolor them. Clean using a microfiber or soft cloth.

General Shipping Questions

Where do you ship to?

At Smiley Moon, we typically ship all of our goodies worldwide. We are temporarily not shipping to countries in the European Union and Northern Ireland due to new GPSR regulations. We are also temporarily not shipping to Canada due to the postal workers' strike.

How long does shipping take?

  • All items are made to order or are created in small batches, so please allow a 7-20 business-day processing time prior to shipment (does not include weekends or major US holidays). Some orders may ship more quickly than others. Your support and patience is so greatly appreciated!
  • If you want to inquire about specific shipping times on items or possible expedited shipping please contact us directly at smileymoonstudio@gmail.com. More often than not, we can get your order to you quicker than the processing time if you need it sooner ( for a gift, event, etc.)

How do I track my order?

When your order ships, you will receive tracking information to the email you submitted at the point of purchase. Please allow 24-72 hours for the shipping information to update when utilizing the tracking number provided.

How much does shipping cost?

Shipping will be calculated at checkout based on your location and the weight of the package. We offer free shipping on US orders of 100$ or more.

Returns, Refunds, and Cancellations

Do you accept returns?

Because many of our art pieces are made-to-order and to mitigate waste, we have a strict no return policy. If you are unhappy with your order, please contact us so we can try to make it right. :)

What do I do if an item arrives broken?

If contacted the same day of delivery, we will happily replace the broken components, parts, or pair. If parts were broken due to customer error at a later date, we may be able to make a custom listing for the specific parts or pieces. :)

ORDER CANCELLATION POLICY

Cancellations will not be accepted after 24 hours of purchasing. The majority of our pieces are handmade to order and production starts soon after purchasing. PRE-ORDER purchases cannot be cancelled under any circumstance.

For orders outside of the US- *BUYER ASSUMES ALL IMPORT/CUSTOM/DUTIES/VAT TAXES IF APPLICABLE* If you purchase from our shop, you agree to these terms.

The package is marked delivered by USPS, but it isn't here! What should I do?

  • If a package is marked delivered to your correct location used at point of purchase, we cannot issue a refund. Please check with your local post office and/or neighbors to try and retrieve your package and/or file a stolen package claim with USPS. All orders are issued a tracking number after shipment. We hope all of your packages arrive safely! ♥️

The package has been "returned to sender," where is it?

  • If your package is returned to sender due to insufficient or incorrect address, we will reship it once more and cover the shipping costs as a courtesy for US orders. After a second attempt at shipment, buyer must pay additional shipping costs for reshipment. No refunds will be accepted.
  • If your package is returned to sender because of a postal issue other than incorrect or insufficient address (ie, hazards, weather, construction, etc.), we will resend the package and cover shipping costs as a courtesy for US orders. If package cannot be delivered after second attempt, refund may be issued. 
  • For orders outside of the US, buyers must pay shipping for additional delivery attempts. No refunds will be issued.

The package has been "in transit" for a long time, where is it?

  • If your package is "lost" in transit (and tracking data reflects this) please contact us and we will file a missing package claim and a package inquiry to USPS. It can take 1-3 weeks to hear back. After hearing back from USPS, and the package is not retrievable, we will issue a replacement of the items purchased. PLEASE reach out- we want you to get your earrings and enjoy them! Unfortunately this happens sometimes, but we will always help to sort it out through the proper channels. We appreciate your support and patience :)
